I work independently as well as in collaboration with Animam, a psychological support centre based in Palma. Animam offers services in both Spanish and English, including therapeutic support and a wide range of psychological assessments, such as cognitive evaluations and diagnostic assessments for autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD).

Fluent in English and Spanish, I am able to communicate with parents in either language, depending on their preference. However, all services, including assessments, documentation, and reports provided to schools and families are conducted in English.

Safeguarding: I can provide both my UK and Spanish certificates confirming that I do not have a criminal record and/or have been barred from working with children. I am fully compliant of all safeguarding measures.

TUTORING: I offer personalised one-to-one support in maths and English for students with learning difficulties, including dyslexia and dyscalculia. Each lesson is tailored to the individual learner’s needs, focusing on areas such as phonological awareness, spelling strategies, and numeracy skills. I work to fill gaps in foundational knowledge while also supporting challenges that arise from current schoolwork. My approach is flexible, responsive, and designed to build confidence and independence in learning.

DYSLEXIA SCREENINGS: As a member of the British Psychological Society, RQTU Membership No 336395, I offer screening assessments designed to support students who may be experiencing challenges in their learning journey. This provides a comprehensive profile of the student’s strengths and areas for development across key domains: reading, spelling, writing speed, processing, and memory. The screener helps identify specific literacy difficulties and evaluates the likelihood of dyslexia.

As part of the process, parents and teachers may be asked to complete questionnaires to support a more comprehensive understanding. Following the assessment, a brief report will be provided outlining key observations and recommendations.

FULL ASSESSMENTS: As a member of the British Psychological Society, I conduct dyslexia, dyscalculia, and dysgraphia assessments. My assessment process begins with gathering background information from both parents and teachers through structured questionnaires. I then observe the student in their classroom environment to gain insight into how they are managing within the context of their peers and daily school routines.

Following this, I conduct a comprehensive assessment, which typically takes around three hours, depending on the student’s needs and pace. All assessments will include an element of memory and processing speed in addition to the literacy, numeracy, or handwriting skills. The assessment tests will be based on parental and school concerns and observations. During the assessments, we take some breaks for games depending on the age and need of the child.

After the assessment, I hold an initial meeting with the parents to share early observations and gather any additional insights that may support the overall understanding of the student.

A detailed report is then prepared, summarising the findings from the observation and assessment. This is followed by a feedback meeting with both parents and teachers, where I share recommendations and suggest possible targets to support the student’s learning and development.

Report Translation: I offer report translation services into Spanish for a fee of €100. This ensures that families and educators can access clear, accurate information in their preferred language.

I hold a current Enhanced DBS check (2024) and Registro Central de Penados (No costan) from 2025, and can share my CV or any certification as required by the school.

FORM 8: I am fully qualified to complete Form 8 for iGCSE and A-level exam access arrangements. To ensure compliance with the latest JCQ regulations, for full compliance, I complete the yearly update course to stay aligned with current guidance. SOCIAL STORIES TM: Social Stories were first introduced by Carol Gray in the USA. They were designed to help people with ASD understand social situations and conversations. I trained with her almost 25 years ago when I was working in a special school for children with Language and Communication disorders including ASD.

Social stories are written using a simple language, or can be completely visual in style. They are written for one child and focus on one social interaction or situation which they struggle with. The social story helps the child to understand a specific situation and why they need to behave in a certain way. They are particularly aimed at young children with autistic traits or those with weak social skills, but can be effective with older children too.
