My name is Sofia, and I am an experienced educator and specialist assessor. Born and raised in Mallorca, I am fully bilingual in Spanish and English. I spent some of my student years in an international school, and having gone through the process of developing as a bilingual student, I have a dual perspective, both lived and learned, that has equipped me with a nuanced understanding of the cognitive, social, and emotional dimensions of bilingualism.

I spent my entire professional career in the UK, where I began as a mathematics teacher before specialising in supporting students with special educational needs, including dyslexia, dyscalculia, and autism spectrum conditions.

In 2024, I returned to Mallorca permanently, bringing with me almost three decades of expertise in inclusive education and a deep commitment to helping every learner thrive.

Over the years, I have worked across a wide range of educational settings, including both state and independent schools. I spent over a decade in prep schools, where I developed extensive knowledge of the 11+ entry process for London private schools. In addition, I worked for seven years in a specialist school supporting children with language and communication disorders, as well as those on the autism spectrum.

For the past 20 years, I have served as a Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCO), delivering tailored support and conducting specialist assessments to help each student reach their potential. My approach is rooted in understanding, collaboration, and a commitment to inclusive education.

I have completed the National Award for SEN Coordination, and the Certificate of Competence in Educational Testing (CCET) and Access Arrangements (CPT3A) and I am a member of the British Psychological Society, RQTU Membership No 336395, and of the Dyslexia Guild (PDG3A, Guild Number: 34868).
